TrikiControl — Pre-order Store for a Wireless Volume Knob
TrikiControl is a hardware product in development: a machined aluminium knob that connects as a standard Bluetooth HID device, turns system volume with a stepped haptic feel, and switches with a press between volume, media, brightness and a custom shortcut. This project is the store that sells it before it ships. The landing page explains the device with an interactive knob demo, a spec table and an FAQ, and the checkout takes colour, quantity and a shipping address, then hands payment to Orv Pay. Every order is labelled as a pre-order of a hand-built first batch, and the product images are renders until a finished unit exists.
// Architecture
A single FastAPI app renders Jinja2 templates and keeps orders, users and funnel events in SQLite, served under orvteam.com/trikicontrol behind nginx. Sign-in uses Google Identity Services with the id_token checked on the server, since email is the only channel for order updates. Payment goes through Orv Pay in tomans: the order is marked paid from an HMAC-signed webhook, with status polling as a fallback, and the update only applies once.
// Key capabilities
Checkout before login
The full order form, final price, preparation window and pre-order terms are visible without an account; Google sign-in is asked for only at the moment of placing the order, with the reason stated.
Honest compatibility checker
Three questions (operating system, use, type of display) return works, check first or not supported, with the reason, based on the documented limits of BLE HID rather than marketing claims.
First-party attribution
UTM and referrer are kept in a first-party cookie and attached to each order and funnel event, so the admin page shows views, checkouts and purchases per source without any third-party analytics.
Interactive product demo
Until real photos exist, a knob on the page can be turned by drag or keyboard and pressed to change mode, with the colour swatches previewed live and proper slider accessibility.
